Is 2025 Over Yet?

I haven’t updated since November. I suck, but hey, life be life-ing and I personally made a promise to myself to be present in every aspect of my daily life.

So what’s new? Well, I still have cancer a little bit. No one really seems to be able to say if I’m at no evidence of disease thanks to some not so great surgical margins and the need for reconstructive surgery. I also discovered that a vestibular migraine (vertigo plus migraine) mimics a fucking stroke, so that was a fun night in the hospital! Apparently an MRI could have ruled out the whole stroke thing, but I have temporary breast implants that have metal ports on them. Sooo….you can guess how that conversation went.

What else? Oh, I ran a 10k. I was slow as hell but I did it. 6.2 miles on my stumpy little legs. And I survived the holidays. That alone is a massive feat.

Husband is good. Kids are good. Dogs are good. The world around me is a little bit on fire. Pretty sure Mango Mussolini’s retribution presidency is going to seriously impact the programs I’m trying to build at work. But we adapt and overcome, right? I’m 29 days into the new year and every day waking up feels like I should be hearing a damage report.

But we want to look at joy, right? Find the silver lining!!! My community’s mutual aid network is stronger than ever. Racism and classism is becoming evident and there is more calling out (or in) than ever before. My own kids are having deeper talks with us to make sense of it and asking DAMN FINE questions.

So we’re making it. I’m staying positive. And running, and staying healthy. And trying to look at building better meals and more efficiencies in my household so I can slack and play video games once in a while (I’m addicted to The Witcher 3).

Love each y’all. 207 weeks of His MAGA-sty’s tenure left. Find the joy where you can. Maybe don’t choose the 5 lb container of Twizzlers like I did – but you get the point ✨

With sugar coma vibes,

M.
